Growing the STEM

“Dear $NICK_NAME$,”

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) are the focus of an educational journey that is designed and directed to give America’s workforce the tools needed if we are to remain competitive in an ever-expanding global economy.  Growing the STEM, an independent nonprofit organization active in the Coeur d’Alene community, was started in 2017 by Lilian Smith and Adeline Smith.

Lilian Smith, a Coeur d’Alene High School Junior, will be Sunrise Rotary’s Guest Speaker on March 10, 2020.  Lilian’s youth is no impediment when it comes to starting and actively promoting Growing the STEM.  “As vice president of its board, she focuses on fundraising, community outreach, website building, and planting new programs.”  With a passion for math and chemistry, this she hopes will be the driver to pursue a career in science education and research and beyond where she might share this passion with others.  Join your colleagues for breakfast, coffee and hear from this innovative forward-thinking young lady as she shares the work that Growing the STEM does in our community, our schools, and in the young lives touched by this program.
